Manager Digital System – Battery Cell Development Center

Location: Onsite in Warren, Michigan, United States, with full-time attendance at the designated location. Travel required up to 25%. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship, and the role is not eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the digital roadmap for the Battery Cell Development Center, including automation, digitalization, analytics, simulation, and AI/ML capabilities.
• Lead controls engineering and automation integration across the facility, from raw-material receiving through end-of-line operations.
• Develop digital twin and simulation capabilities for process flow, throughput, capacity, equipment interaction, and virtual manufacturing validation.
• Implement and integrate MES, historians, traceability platforms, data architectures, and scalable digital infrastructure.
• Build manufacturing analytics, dashboards, statistical process monitoring, and predictive analytics in partnership with quality and data teams.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary digital systems team while collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, IT, suppliers, and technology partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, automation, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing automation, controls, digital manufacturing, or related fields.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience leading controls integration for automated manufacturing equipment and implementing digital technologies.
• Must work onsite in Warren, Michigan, and must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience in battery, semiconductor, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell, or Beckhoff PLC platforms, plus SCADA, MES, and historian systems.
• Experience with digital twins, simulation tools, cloud analytics, machine learning, or AI in manufacturing.
