Sr. Manager - Manufacturing

Location: Costa Mesa, California, United States. Up to 10% travel to TRD facilities and motorsports events. Employment-based visa or other work authorization sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $176,400–$305,800.

What you will do

• Lead TRD’s manufacturing operation and manage approximately 40 team members across manufacturing engineering, production control, and quality.
• Oversee process definition for high-precision 5-axis race components and higher-volume commercial components.
• Direct production scheduling and execution across mixed-volume workstreams, tracking KPIs including OEE targets of at least 80% across 18+ CNC machines.
• Oversee inspection of tight-tolerance components manufactured in-house and sourced through the global supply chain.
• Coordinate with planning, purchasing, design engineering, race engine build, commercial assembly, and EHS teams.
• Evaluate and implement automation, robotics, and AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality, and manufacturing capability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management; a master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in a high-precision, automated 5-axis CNC environment, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing process definition, optimization, production scheduling, and inspection methods.
• Experience managing in an OEE-measured environment with a metrics- and data-driven approach.
• Advanced experience with complex, tight-tolerance, 5-axis high-speed milling.
• Experience leading 40+ employees across multiple functions and managing managers.

Nice to have

• Advanced CAM, CAD, and toolpath verification experience; HyperMill proficiency is strongly preferred, with Creo and Vericut experience as additional advantages.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools, including LLMs for analysis, documentation, and process improvement.
• Experience with billet, forging, and casting materials, as well as production fixtures and tooling.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience creating complex production schedules for mixed-volume, mixed-complexity workstreams.
