Principal RF Antenna Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $200,000–$270,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Lead research, design, and procurement of antenna elements.
• Qualify RF and antenna hardware through vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal vacuum testing.
• Support design and validation testing for UHF-through-Ka-band RF and microwave hardware, including phased arrays, amplifiers, filters, and high-speed converters.
• Execute development and production tests for internal and external customer requirements.
• Collaborate with antenna, RF, FPGA, DSP, software, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to integrate designs into spacecraft systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer, electrical, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in microwave, RF, or antenna engineering.
• Experience with RF test equipment, including vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with anechoic chambers and antenna measurement assets such as near-field scanners.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Deep experience with classified systems and their security requirements is required.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree related to antenna design and analysis.
• Experience with space-electronics environmental testing, including radiation and EMI/EMC testing.
• Experience with antenna characterization, insertion-loss testing, and RF systems testing.
• Experience with Ansys Electronics Desktop HFSS or Altair FEKO.
• Experience developing software-defined radio hardware with high-speed RF data converters, clock trees, and converter interfaces.
