Quality Assurance Engineer (DOCSIS)

What you will do

• Plan and execute end-to-end tests for vCMTS application features using appropriate test strategies, cases, and reports.
• Develop testing strategies for continuous integration, automated regression, smoke, and load testing.
• Design and build QA automation frameworks using custom code and open-source tools.
• Identify, reproduce, analyze, and document product defects while coordinating resolution with engineering, automation, and operations teams.
• Maintain test infrastructure and environments, resolve lab and system setup issues, and track regression failures and automation backlogs.
• Provide status updates, technical guidance, documentation, metrics, and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and expertise in QA testing and certification.
• Experience with DOCSIS and/or PON technologies, telecommunications, networking, and SDN/NFV.
• DevOps and CI/CD experience with Kubernetes, GitHub, Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or JavaScript, plus Linux/Unix debugging skills.
• Knowledge of performance testing, observability tools, microservices, containerized deployments, networking protocols, and virtualization technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or other cloud-based deployment practices.
• Experience with IXIA and ByteBlower performance testing tools.
• Familiarity with XML, JSON, protocol buffers, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, InfluxDB, and Grafana.
