Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Networking)

Location: Onsite, with an expectation of primarily working from an hirify.global office

What you will do

• Lead complex hardware designs end to end, from functional specifications and component selection through schematics, bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Drive high-speed digital design decisions involving signal integrity, power distribution, timing, design margins, reliability, and technical trade-offs.
• Own complete boards or major subsystems for networking products and influence feasibility, cost, margins, and long-term reliability.
• Collaborate with PCB layout, SI/PI, validation, mechanical, thermal, EMC, manufacturing, firmware, and software teams across multiple sites.
• Perform root-cause analysis and empirical lab testing for complex board- and system-level issues.
• Establish design methodologies and engineering standards while mentoring junior engineers through reviews and technical coaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in complex hardware and system-level design with products shipped to production.
• Proven ownership of high-speed board-level designs and strong knowledge of signal integrity, power distribution networks, and mechanical-thermal considerations.
• Experience designing networking hardware such as switches, routers, or network appliances, including Ethernet PHY, MDI, switching, and SerDes technologies.
• Proficiency with Cadence PCB design tools, including Concept, OrCAD, and Allegro, plus interfaces such as DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, USB, SPI, I²C, UART, SGMII, and XAUI.
• Hands-on experience debugging complex hardware using oscilloscopes, TDRs, logic analyzers, JTAG tools, spectrum analyzers, BERTs, or DCA equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power over Ethernet technologies, including PSE/PD and PoE+/++.
• Experience integrating ARM, Intel x86, or AMD x86 CPU subsystems.
• Working knowledge of bootloaders, BIOS, and Linux or other operating system environments.
• Experience collaborating across global, cross-functional R&D teams.
