Sr. Mechanical Engineer (US Citizenship Required)

Location: US - Orem, Utah; onsite role. US citizenship and export-control eligibility are required.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design of lightweight, high-performance UAV systems and subsystems.
• Own complex, high-part-count CAD and PLM assemblies, interfaces, BOMs, drawings, and configuration control.
• Apply parametric top-down modeling, aerodynamic optimization, FEA, prototyping, and testing to validate durability and performance.
• Design products using Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly methods.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and production throughout development and product sustainment.
• Support production through training, manufacturing test requirements, work-instruction reviews, troubleshooting, and engineering changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of professional experience designing weight- and size-sensitive assemblies and components.
• Experience owning system designs, managing complex assemblies, and meeting system specifications.
• Strong CAD design and assembly-management skills, including robust parametric and top-down modeling.
• Experience with PDM tools and configuration-control practices.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain the required export-control license; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with battery, motor, or UAV propulsion systems.
• Expertise with SolidWorks 3D modeling, drawings, and simulation.
• Experience leading technical projects and teams.
