What you will do

• Drive optomechanical design from requirements and feasibility studies through conceptual and detailed design, manufacturing release, and handoff.
• Develop detailed 3D solid models and drawings using Creo.
• Perform fluid, thermal, vibrational, hand-calculation, FEA, and tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Lead and participate in design reviews, procure and assemble prototypes, and support system integration and testing.
• Create assembly, test, and manufacturing documentation.
• Design low-stress, high-stability precision mechanisms, including systems for ultra-clean and vacuum environments and precision stages with actuation or adjustment.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with no related experience, or bachelor’s degree with two years of related experience.
• Experience with 3D solid modeling and detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to conduct thermal, fluid, and vibrational analysis using hand calculations and FEA.
• Ability to support prototype procurement, assembly, testing, system integration, and manufacturing release.
• Must work at the Milpitas, California location.
