Senior Software Engineer (SAP S/4HANA FICO)

What you will do

• Provide hands-on support for SAP S/4HANA FICO, with a focus on General Ledger and Controlling configuration and customization.
• Gather business requirements, define SAP FICO functional specifications, and collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform impact analysis, and coordinate resolutions across functional teams.
• Support error correction, suspense accounting, and monthly and yearly book-closure activities.
• Maintain Snowflake and cloud-based data integrations, including metadata-driven pipelines connecting SAP, Mainframe, and Informatica.
• Lead testing, continuous improvement, automation, tuning, and mentoring of junior engineers while ensuring SOX and audit compliance.

Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future hirify.global immigration sponsorship.
• 8+ years of combined SAP S/4HANA FICO functional consulting and data engineering experience.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA FICO experience in General Ledger and Controlling, including configuration, customization, and integration with other SAP modules.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, SOX and audit compliance, SDLC pipelines, data integration architecture, APIs, scalable ingestion, microservices-based transformations, and data quality controls.
• 3+ years of full SAP implementation lifecycle experience and knowledge of SAP S/4HANA version 1909 or higher.
• Experience with Fiori tile business transactions, complex troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring.

Nice to have

• Accounting degree and CPA or Chartered Accountant certification.
• SAP certification.
• Additional experience with data integration architecture and API technologies.
