Senior Software Architect (Aerospace)

Location: Playa Vista, California; in-person five days per week

Salary: $250,000–$285,000 per year, plus annual performance-based bonuses and equity.

hirify.global is an orbital logistics company building reusable Earth-return vehicles for in-space manufacturing, on-orbit warehousing, commercial cargo, national security missions, research payloads, and critical aid delivery.

What you will do

• Design and develop flight, ground, and operations software for orbital logistics missions while owning the overall software architecture.
• Collaborate with GNC, avionics, power, propulsion, and thermal engineers to implement and integrate mission algorithms.
• Write bare-metal, RTOS-based, and Linux-based embedded software in C/C++.
• Develop driver-level code for onboard sensors and actuators.
• Own software development from architecture and design through testing, integration, and mission operations support.
• Lead SITL and HITL bring-up activities and mentor software engineers across the stack.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of spacecraft software engineering or software development experience in C++ or a similar language.
• Experience designing software architectures for complex, safety-critical, or mission-critical systems.
• Experience integrating GNC algorithms into flight software.
• Experience with Docker, Git, CMake, GNU tools, computer architecture, and operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.

Nice to have

• Active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Knowledge of aerospace standards and specifications.
• Experience with FAA Part 450 commercial space launch and reentry licensing requirements.
• Experience with UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, TCP/UDP, or FMEA.
