Principal Architect, Infrastructure (Azure)

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations may be required as business needs require.

Salary: $148,800–$223,200 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Define target-state network architecture across Azure, other cloud platforms, and on-premises environments, including reference designs, standards, and documentation.
• Design scalable cloud networking, segmentation, secure connectivity, and integration paths between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Architect and govern the network security edge, including next-generation firewalls, zero-trust principles, and secure remote access.
• Guide enterprise routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure evolution while supporting high availability and resiliency.
• Champion Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting for network provisioning and change management.
• Partner with security and engineering teams on regulatory readiness, incident response, root cause analysis, vendor evaluation, and architecture decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of enterprise networking experience, including 3+ years in a formal network architecture role within a large, multi-site environment.
• Hands-on cloud network architecture experience with strong Microsoft Azure expertise.
• Strong background in next-generation firewalls, zero-trust architecture, and secure remote access.
• Experience with enterprise routing, switching, wireless technologies, high availability, resiliency, and secure access in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting, such as Terraform, PowerShell, or Python.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with engineering teams, leadership, security, and partners.

Nice to have

• Cloud networking, network security, or enterprise networking certifications.
• Healthcare, revenue cycle, or other regulated-industry experience, including HIPAA-related work.
• Experience establishing architecture standards or review practices.
• Exposure to additional public cloud platforms.
