TL;DR
ROV Pilot/Technician (Autonomous Subsea Robotics): Testing, deploying, maintaining, and operating ROV platforms across workshops, test tanks, lakes, and open-ocean environments with an accent on sensor integration, platform reliability, and operational safety. Focus on hardening ROV systems for real-world conditions, providing feedback to R&D teams, and supporting customer deployments and technical bids.

Location: Aberdeen, UK. Hybrid work combining flexible office/workshop duties with nearshore and offshore operations as required.

Contract: Permanent, full-time.

What you will do

  • Prepare, set up, and execute testing plans for ROV platforms as they progress from R&D testing to real-world hardening and capability development.
  • Test and deploy ROVs in test tanks, lakes, and open-ocean environments.
  • Provide practical feedback to R&D teams to improve ROV platform development.
  • Support tendering teams with bids and assist operational teams with technologies developed for customer solutions.
  • Take ownership of ROV platforms, supporting maintenance and reliability across the team.
  • Conduct workshop, worksite, and offshore activities with strong consideration for quality, health, safety, and the environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in ROV Pilot/Technician roles in nearshore and offshore environments.
  • Experience with ROV systems such as Rovtech Valor, Seaeye Cougar, or Argus Rover Compact.
  • Experience integrating sensor spreads with ROV platforms.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing ROV platforms.
  • UK citizenship and the ability to travel globally.
  • UK driving licence required. Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences is also required.

Nice to have

  • Completed trainee ROV Pilot/Technician competency or certification and a few years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to test new ideas while maintaining a strong focus on operational safety.
