Tech/Prototyping Engineer (Robotics)

hirify.global develops commercially scalable and safe hirify.global robots, including the HMND-01 Alpha platform used in industrial pilots.

What you will do

• Build, assemble, maintain, and repair prototype hardware for robot end effectors and operator-worn devices.
• Operate 3D printers, CNC equipment, hand tools, and other workshop equipment to produce prototype parts.
• Wire and prototype MCU-based test rigs using platforms such as ESP32 and Raspberry Pi.
• Build, configure, and run validation jigs and test rigs for durability, calibration, and functional testing.
• Support hardware trials and demonstrations, troubleshoot issues, and deliver builds within tight iteration cycles.
• Manage the prototyping shop and parts inventory, documenting build issues and providing feedback to design.

Requirements

• Background in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, technician training, or equivalent hands-on hardware experience.
• 2–4 years of experience prototyping physical hardware or robotics products.
• Practical experience with 3D printing, hand tools, basic machining, soldering, and cable or harness assembly.
• Ability to prototype with MCU platforms such as ESP32 and Raspberry Pi, including basic breadboarding and circuit assembly.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and BOMs and translate them into physical builds.
• Experience building test rigs and supporting hardware testing, trials, or prototype demonstrations.

Nice to have

• Ability to create or modify simple CAD parts and fixtures.
• Basic electronics debugging skills, including multimeter use, continuity checks, and simple rework.
• Experience assembling wearable or compact electromechanical devices.
• Experience in a robotics or hardware startup lab environment.
