What you will do

• Lead an optical engineering team across multiple semiconductor equipment programs.
• Direct complex optical system and subsystem projects from specifications through design, qualification, integration, and field support.
• Define experiments, analyze physics-related issues, troubleshoot complex system problems, and approve research and qualification results.
• Develop optical alignment strategies, tooling, error budgets, subsystem requirements, and system performance specifications.
• Lead technology research, feasibility studies, demonstrations, product risk management, and innovation projects.
• Manage strategic suppliers and collaborate with customers, universities, consortia, marketing, and internal engineering teams.

Requirements

• 20+ years of optical design engineering experience, including 8+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience developing high-performance optical systems for the semiconductor industry and working in a product development environment.
• Experience leading the full design cycle, including specification development, supplier support, verification, integration, and alignment.
• Deep expertise in optical systems, performance limits, manufacturability, subsystem trade-offs, and requirements validation.
• Ability to make complex decisions using multidisciplinary data and translate market requirements into engineering specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
