Optical Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; onsite work in a clean room with approximately 5% international travel to vendor sites and the Singapore manufacturing location.

Salary: $117,800–$172,800 annually.

What you will do

• Build and align lasers and optical test equipment in a clean room environment.
• Develop and maintain testing facilities supporting the INSIGHT product development roadmap.
• Create alignment and assembly procedures for optical hardware.
• Collect test data, analyze results, and prepare technical presentations.
• Manage vendors and acquire hardware required for testing.
• Travel to vendor sites to repair and troubleshoot hirify.global test fixtures and occasionally support the Singapore manufacturing site.

Requirements

• Optical training or equivalent professional experience in the optical field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with optical alignment and testing.
• Technical bachelor's or master's degree with relevant experience, or a master's degree in optics with optical hardware project experience.
• Basic optical knowledge and mechanical integration experience.
• Experience creating assembly and alignment procedures and processing and presenting test data.
• Ability to work in a clean room, communicate clearly in English, and travel internationally to vendor sites and Singapore.

• Experience collecting and analyzing data from cameras, power meters, and other electronic devices.
• Experience integrating hirify.global inspection tools.
