2026 Fall Materials Engineering Co-op (TCAD Modeling) - Doctorate (Gloucester, MA)

Location: Onsite in Gloucester, MA, United States; available for 6–9 months starting September 2026.

Compensation: $41–$50 per hour.

What you will do

• Collaborate with implant materials processing groups on process demonstrations, wafer processing, measurement, modeling, simulation, results analysis, and documentation.
• Participate in development projects involving wafer processing and metrology, and present updates in group meetings.
• Support process engineering through sample procurement and shipping.
• Track inventory and contribute to documentation of process activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related semiconductor field.
• Good academic standing; a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with thin-film materials characterization, including ellipsometry, electrical IV/CV measurements, FTIR, microscopy, and mechanical property testing.
• Familiarity with modeling methodologies such as FEM and Monte Carlo simulations.
• Must be available for onsite work in Gloucester, MA for 6–9 months.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of modeling automation techniques.
• TCAD experience.
