Radio Frequency Hardware Engineer - DoorDash Air (RF)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; in-person five days a week

Salary: $139,400–$205,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Develop RF, mixed-signal, and mechanical solutions for unmanned platforms.
• Design RF hardware and wireless testbeds, and lead system-level validation and verification.
• Design, optimize, and validate RF and mixed-signal PCB assemblies.
• Investigate EMI and system-level desense using probes, shielding tests, grounding checks, layout reviews, simulations, and root-cause analysis.
• Conduct laboratory and over-the-air testing for sensitivity, coexistence, and compliance across LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and UWB.
• Communicate technical challenges and trade-offs while mentoring partner engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF engineering, applied electromagnetics, or wireless systems.
• 6+ years of hands-on RF hardware design and testing experience for consumer-grade mass-produced products.
• Strong RF fundamentals, including front-end design, desense analysis, and system-level optimization.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI/DSI, PCIe, DDR, SDIO, or eMMC.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other RF test equipment.
• Experience with shielding, grounding, filtering, electromagnetic simulation, data analysis, technical reporting, and presentations.
