TL;DR
RF Hardware Engineer (AI Hardware): Designing, integrating, validating, and certifying wireless subsystems for next-generation consumer AI hardware with an accent on RF architecture, front-end design, coexistence, and OTA performance. Focus on driving RF products from prototype through mass production, solving interference and calibration challenges, and supporting FCC, ISED, CE RED, PTCRB/GCF, and carrier certification.

What you will do

  • Design RF architectures, front-end lineups, link budgets, component selections, schematics, and PCBs for cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, NFC, or UWB radios.
  • Review RF layouts, routing, impedance control, grounding, shielding, and isolation strategies across PCB and flex designs.
  • Plan and execute conducted, OTA, desense, and multi-radio coexistence validation; analyze results and optimize designs.
  • Lead system-level RF failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Drive factory RF calibration, test-station bring-up, test limits, yield analysis, and correlation from EVT/DVT/PVT through mass production.
  • Own regulatory and carrier certification activities and coordinate with antenna engineers, vendors, test labs, carriers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of RF hardware design experience, or MS with 3+ years.
  • Hands-on experience designing at least one wireless technology: 5G NR/LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, NFC, or UWB.
  • Strong understanding of transmission lines, impedance matching, RF front-end architecture, link budgets, noise, and linearity.
  • Experience with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, communication testers, and OTA anechoic chambers.
  • Experience taking a wireless product through at least one complete development cycle to mass production.

Nice to have

  • MS or PhD in RF/microwave or wireless communications.
  • Experience with FCC, ISED, CE RED, PTCRB/GCF, carrier acceptance, RF simulation, factory calibration, and OTA test development.
  • Python, MATLAB, or SCPI instrument-control scripting experience.
  • Knowledge of antenna design, tuning, CTIA OTA measurements, and multi-radio coexistence mitigation.
