Sr. Engineer II, Cloud Native - AI Detection and Response (AIDR) (Hybrid, Sunnyvale) (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid attendance required 2–3 days per week

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year, plus bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Architect and implement scalable cloud-native microservices, frameworks, and platform components.
• Build reusable platform libraries for multiple engineering teams.
• Develop tests focused on reliability, accuracy, security, and performance.
• Integrate services with the CrowdStrike ecosystem and REST, gRPC, and related APIs.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Review designs and code and mentor engineers on secure coding, testing, and cloud-native development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience building enterprise-grade products.
• 5+ years developing microservices in cloud-native environments.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least one cloud-native programming language: Go, Python, or Java.
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures, microservices, databases, containers, Kubernetes, monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Experience deploying services to at least one cloud environment: AWS, OCI, GCP, or Azure; proven use of AI technologies is required.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity or security-focused product experience.
• AI/ML security, MLOps, model deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Real-time data processing with Kafka, Pulsar, or Splunk.
• Experience with MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, or ML observability platforms.
• Open-source contributions and experience with GCP, OCI, Kubernetes, AWS, or API Gateway.
