Sr. Engineer, Cloud Native - AI Detection and Response (AIDR)

Location: USA — Sunnyvale, CA; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week on-site

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable AI Detection and Response cloud services processing millions of security events per second.
• Design and implement microservices, reusable frameworks, and platform components for distributed systems.
• Develop comprehensive tests focused on reliability, accuracy, performance, and security.
• Review code and system designs with emphasis on testability, scalability, and secure development.
• Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding, testing methodologies, and cloud-native development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience building enterprise-grade products.
• 5+ years of experience developing microservices in cloud-native environments.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least one cloud-native programming language: Go, Python, or Java.
• Deep knowledge of cloud architectures, REST, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform.
• Strong debugging skills and experience with cloud monitoring, profiling, and optimization tools.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity companies or with security-focused products.
• Understanding of AI/ML security threats and mitigation strategies.
• Experience with real-time data processing systems such as Kafka, Pulsar, or Splunk.
• Open-source contributions and additional experience with AWS, OCI, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, API Gateway, Golang, MS Copilot Ecosystem, or MS Agent Studio.
