Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Hybrid in Menlo Park, California or Bellevue, Washington, United States

Salary: $200K–$287.5K annually

What you will do

• Build software-defined security solutions and services that protect and govern more than 600 million assets across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Automate cloud security controls covering IAM, detection and monitoring, configuration management, and data protection.
• Develop real-time security monitoring, logging, alerting, and continuous AI-augmented pipelines for posture and telemetry data.
• Define and maintain public-cloud security baselines, policies, and standards.
• Score risk and automatically surface the highest-impact security issues across large-scale environments.
• Own security workstreams end to end and contribute through design reviews, mentorship, technical guidance, documentation, testing, and observability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and owning secure, large-scale systems, including secure architecture principles and threat modeling.
• Experience building software in one or more of Java, C++, Go, or Python.
• Familiarity with distributed architectures and scalable APIs such as gRPC or REST.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Commitment to data-driven, scalable decision-making.
• Strong algorithms and data structures knowledge applied to complex problems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience designing scalable, concurrent, and resilient services for high-demand, multi-cloud environments.

Nice to have

• Experience applying AI/ML to security problems such as detection, risk scoring, or prioritization, and building supporting data pipelines.
• Proficiency writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL for data-driven security operations.
