Sr Software Engineer - Platform Security (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid work model. Candidates must already be eligible to work in the United States for any employer. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay: $142,000–$183,000 per year in San Francisco, plus a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop data platform infrastructure strategy and contribute to the technical direction of the Platform Engineering team.
• Design, prototype, implement, automate, and document platform infrastructure solutions across on-premise and AWS environments.
• Create technical plans for broad and complex requirements and make tradeoff decisions with cross-team impact.
• Lead high-visibility, cross-functional technical projects from inception through implementation.
• Build relationships with engineering and product peers while mentoring junior team members.
• Support risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of related industry experience.
• Experience with on-premise and AWS Cloud infrastructure, containers, and container orchestration, including Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in CI/CD practices, CI/CD pipelines, code management platforms, and Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Harness, GitLab, Artifactory, Terraform, and AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with a major programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Shell.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, collaboration, and technical decision-making skills; background and drug screening required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional certification.
• FinTech experience.
