AI Operations Engineer (AI)

Location: AMER; compensation information applies to roles based in the United States, with premium ranges for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area.

Salary: $170,000–$220,000 USD annually in the US; $200,000–$250,000 USD annually in US premium markets.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy LLM-powered solutions, automation workflows, and internal AI tooling for business and engineering use cases.
• Integrate AI with HRIS, ATS, ERP, procurement, ticketing, CI/CD, developer tooling, CLM, and matter management systems.
• Build document generation, data extraction, knowledge retrieval, and decision-support workflows using internal systems and knowledge bases.
• Evaluate and benchmark models for accuracy, latency, cost, safety, and risk, and help maintain model routing.
• Build AI spend dashboards, monitoring, tagging, alerting, and cost-optimization mechanisms.
• Provision, monitor, version, patch, audit, and retire AI agents while delivering training, workshops, playbooks, and documentation.

Requirements

• Experience building with modern AI/ML tools and frameworks.
• Experience building and consuming APIs, developing data pipelines, and architecting system integrations.
• Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure and experience operating production services.
• Experience evaluating AI models across cost, latency, quality, and safety trade-offs.
• Ability to work with usage and billing data, understand business and engineering workflows, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Understanding of data privacy, security, compliance, identity, access controls, and safeguards for AI systems.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating business systems and engineering or developer tooling.
• Experience creating training materials, documentation, or workshops for mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
