Entry-level Plumbing Designer

Location: Hybrid role based in Vista, California, United States; up to 10% travel for site visits, field investigations, and project meetings.

Compensation: $36–$41 USD per hour, plus performance-based bonuses and equity participation.

What you will do

• Prepare plumbing layouts and construction documents for educational, healthcare, military, hospitality, multifamily, and commercial buildings.
• Assist with domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty plumbing system design.
• Perform calculations for fixture counts, pipe sizing, storm drainage, and equipment selection.
• Develop and maintain Revit models and coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Participate in site surveys and field investigations to verify existing conditions.
• Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, RFIs, construction questions, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of plumbing design experience for commercial, institutional, healthcare, multifamily, or similar building projects.
• Working knowledge of plumbing system design principles and building construction.
• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD; proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with California Plumbing Code, local jurisdiction requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Associate’s degree, technical certification, or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with BIM coordination processes.
• EIT certification or progress toward EIT.
• Experience with California projects and code requirements.
