BAS Design Manager (Smart Buildings)

Location: Fully remote for candidates located anywhere in the United States; approximately 10% travel to client sites, partner offices, meetings, or company events across the United States.

Salary: $104,738–$130,502 annually

What you will do

• Lead BAS, PMS, and EPMS design development and delivery for mission-critical building and data center projects.
• Manage external partner scopes, technical specifications, construction drawings, documentation packages, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Create and review sequences of operations, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, control panel diagrams, and other project deliverables.
• Coordinate BAS requirements with MEP engineers, contractors, vendors, project managers, software specialists, and clients.
• Maintain BAS and EPMS production standards, support construction administration, and review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
• Use AI-enabled tools and emerging digital technologies to improve workflows, consistency, productivity, and engineering outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in BAS controls systems engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, IoT, smart building solutions, and data center control redundancy strategies.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, plus working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems, manage technical documentation, communicate with clients, and coordinate or delegate engineering work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment, comply with project and site safety requirements, and occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with mission-critical infrastructure, commercial buildings, construction administration, BAS audits, feasibility studies, or retrofit surveys.
• Experience improving engineering standards, workflows, and adoption of emerging technologies.
