Senior SDET - Test Automation & Performance Engineering

Location: Remote within the USA. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Design and evolve automated testing architecture across products and engineering teams.
• Build reusable API, integration, contract, end-to-end, regression, and UI test frameworks.
• Develop performance and scalability test suites covering load, stress, spike, soak, degradation, and recovery scenarios.
• Model realistic workloads, concurrency, traffic patterns, data volumes, and dependency behavior.
• Integrate automated tests and measurable quality, latency, reliability, and performance gates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve test observability, diagnose failures across applications and infrastructure, reduce flaky tests, and coach engineers on quality ownership.

Requirements

• Strong experience as an SDET, Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar engineering-focused testing professional.
• Strong software development and automated API and integration testing skills.
• Experience testing APIs, distributed services, integrations, and cloud-based applications in AWS environments.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as k6, Gatling, Locust, JMeter, or equivalent, including load, stress, spike, soak, and scalability testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, establishing quality gates, and performing contract testing across service boundaries.
• Strong skills in test-data management, observability, debugging, environment reliability, and reducing flaky automated tests.

Nice to have

• Experience testing high-scale SaaS or distributed platforms.
• Experience with resilience testing, failure injection, dependency degradation, or recovery testing.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and ephemeral test environments.
• Security-adjacent testing experience involving permissions, authentication, authorization, isolation, and negative-path scenarios.
• Experience building shared quality or test platforms for multiple engineering teams.
