Sr. Engineer, Cloud Native - AI Detection and Response (AIDR) (Hybrid, Sunnyvale) (AI)

Location: USA - Sunnyvale, CA; hybrid, with 2–3 days per week on-site

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable AI Detection and Response cloud services processing millions of security events per second and managing petabytes of data.
• Design and implement microservices, frameworks, reusable platform libraries, and cloud-native components.
• Develop comprehensive tests focused on reliability, accuracy, performance, and security.
• Conduct code and design reviews, integrate with platform services and APIs, and maintain high engineering standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and preventive improvements for production issues.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding, testing methodologies, and cloud-native development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience building enterprise-grade products.
• 5+ years of experience developing microservices in cloud-native environments.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least one cloud-native programming language: Go, Python, or Java.
• Deep knowledge of REST, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, OCI, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience deploying services to a cloud environment, debugging distributed systems, and using monitoring, profiling, and optimization tools.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity or security-focused product experience.
• Understanding of AI/ML security challenges, real-time data processing, and systems such as Kafka, Pulsar, or Splunk.
• MLOps experience with model deployment, monitoring, lifecycle management, evaluation, versioning, and automated retraining.
• Experience with ML platforms and tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML, SHAP, or LIME.
