Ground Support Operators, Labs - DoorDash Air (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Bay Point, California; Oakland, California is also listed as a condition. Only local candidates or candidates within commuting distance will be considered. The role includes about 20% travel and variable working hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.

Salary: $23.70–$34.80 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Support flight validation and daily test readiness for new drone platforms.
• Manage batteries, prepare equipment, and coordinate onsite field logistics.
• Operate accompanying ground systems safely and efficiently in outdoor field environments.
• Collect testing data, troubleshoot drone systems, document flight results, and flag anomalies.
• Collaborate with flight test operators, operations teams, and cross-functional partners to improve performance.

Requirements

• Part 107 license required; UAV experience is not required.
• Ability to work onsite in Bay Point, California, within commuting distance.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, repeatedly handle drones, and work outdoors in heat, dust, cold, wind, and varying weather.
• Technical curiosity, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and document issues.
• Clear communication skills for flight logs, blockers, updates, and findings.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and ask for support when needed.
