Field Drone Technician

What you will do

• Operate drone platforms according to project specifications and support engineering, testing, and mission-critical field operations.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, field maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and operational readiness checks.
• Install, test, and verify sensors, control systems, and communications equipment using approved configurations.
• Identify, isolate, document, and escalate hardware, software, and connectivity issues to engineering.
• Collect and process aerial data and system logs, maintaining organized flight, maintenance, and mission records.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams, while supporting training and compliance with safety protocols and aviation regulations.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with drone systems and flight operations.
• Strong knowledge of UAV electronics, sensors, and ground control station configurations.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, or replace mechanical and electrical system failures according to established procedures.
• Competence with data acquisition tools and post-mission analysis.
• Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and may need authorization to access technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without export-license sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, avionics, or UAS maintenance.
• Experience in aerospace, military, or defense technology environments.
• Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, BetaFlight, DroneDeploy, GIS, or other drone data software.
• Experience with high-altitude, fixed-wing, or combustion-powered drones.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment.
