Staff Engineer (Cloud-Native Platforms)

Annual salary: $110,000–$230,000

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve the Application Container Services platform within the PaaS Serverless organization.
• Define technical vision and architect scalable, reliable, secure cloud-native solutions.
• Lead design sessions, architecture reviews, and code reviews across engineering teams.
• Drive platform modernization, infrastructure lifecycle management, and migration tooling initiatives.
• Improve observability, security compliance, production reliability, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and support product teams through production readiness and go-live milestones.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies including Knative, KEDA, ArgoCD, Istio, and service mesh.
• Experience operating large-scale PaaS or cloud-native platforms in production and working with Azure Functions, Azure App Services, AKS, or serverless platforms.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, C#/.NET, or PowerShell, plus GitOps and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience leading technical design, architecture reviews, cross-team initiatives, reliability engineering, observability, FinOps, and cloud cost optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education or work experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Copilot.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and promoting continuous learning.
