Sr Staff Software Engineer (Platform Engineering/Java/Distributed Systems)

What you will do

• Develop and drive the technical roadmap for the Digital Personal Auto Sales platform.
• Design and architect resilient, scalable platform services across on-premises and public cloud environments.
• Build software, automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and production-support capabilities while promoting safe, incremental delivery.
• Create incident-response plans, runbooks, triage strategies, and post-incident analyses for disaster scenarios and partner integrations.
• Lead production-readiness assessments, operational-excellence initiatives, technology selection, and platform modernization.
• Mentor engineers and advise technical and non-technical stakeholders on architecture, engineering practices, cost, and resource planning.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software-development experience, including 6+ years in architecture and design and 4+ years with cloud service providers.
• Fluency in at least one modern programming language; Go is preferred and Java is a plus.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly scalable, available, and reliable production systems.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps, hybrid cloud architecture, IaaS/PaaS, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, configuration management, networking, databases, and observability.
• Experience with incident management, security and encryption practices, compliance standards, monitoring tools, and operational reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education or work experience, plus strong leadership, communication, analytical, and mentoring skills.
