Associate Development Officer

Location: Hybrid, with work at the main office in Portland, Maine at least 3–4 days per week; travel across Maine and New Hampshire is required based on project locations.

Salary: $55,000–$70,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support the development and rehabilitation of multifamily affordable housing projects from concept through construction and lease-up.
• Collaborate with development staff, financial partners, consultants, and internal teams.
• Support project financing and prepare financial analyses and budgets.
• Coordinate development stakeholders and help guide projects through key milestones.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a relevant master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in financial underwriting, project management, real estate development, or a related field.
• Strong project management, financial underwriting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize concurrent tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of multifamily housing and the development process is required; direct experience in design, finance, construction, or asset/property management is preferred.
• Ability to work from the Portland, Maine office at least 3–4 days per week and travel within Maine and New Hampshire.
