Field Claims Specialist III, Property (Flex Claims Professional)

Location: Nevada; ideal candidates are located in the Las Vegas, NV or Denver, CO areas. The role requires travel of up to 80%, irregular hours, possible overnight stays, and availability for catastrophe deployments.

Salary: $79,500–$119,500 expected starting annual range; national range $79,500–$148,500.

What you will do

• Handle complex and catastrophic property claims from initial investigation through coverage decisions, negotiation, and settlement.
• Evaluate policy coverage, exclusions, liability, repair requirements, and property damage estimates.
• Open, close, and adjust reserves while following claims authority, conferencing, and documentation procedures.
• Conduct physical inspections of loss sites, including rooftops, and maintain accurate claims-system records and follow-ups.
• Partner with Special Investigation Unit and Subrogation teams on fraud, recovery, litigation, trial, and subrogation matters.
• Act for the Claims Manager when needed, mentor less experienced associates, and support training and presentations.

Requirements

• Five years of property claims, insurance processing, or field claims adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate, including writing estimates and handling claims through completion.
• Successful completion of required claims certification courses; state licensing where required.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and inspect first- and second-story rooftops with pitches up to 8/12, work outdoors in all weather, and perform physical inspections.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to work irregular and extended hours, remain on call, travel, and support catastrophe operations.
• Credit and/or background checks are required as part of the selection process.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate studies in business administration or a related field.
• IIA or CPCU professional development.
• Xactimate Level 1 certification within one year and Level 2 certification within two years of employment.
