Director of Product Engineering & New Product Introduction (NPI) (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, New York

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Product Engineering and New Product Introduction team, including goal setting, feedback, and mentoring.
• Direct product engineering and NPI strategies from concept development through production readiness, full-rate production, and operational support.
• Provide technical leadership for production programs involving performance, quality, reliability, compliance, and customer requirements.
• Partner with Design Engineering, Fabrication, Assembly and Test, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Program Management.
• Establish processes, tooling, documentation, training, and support plans for new and existing product lines.
• Approve engineering changes and participate on the PNOE board to address product risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in product engineering, NPI, or a similar function within regulated, high-reliability, or complex manufacturing environments.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams or engineering managers.
• Experience transitioning products from R&D to production readiness, including testing, validation, and production test systems.
• Experience with strategic execution, budgeting, cost control, engineering requirements, specifications, and test strategies.
• Strong technical judgment, problem-solving, communication, process leadership, and cross-functional influencing skills.
