Sr Network Reliability Engineer

Salary: $197,529.00–$276,539.55 base pay range for California applicants; ranges may differ by site.

What you will do

• Design and document end-to-end network topologies for multiple ground stations and a Network Operations Center.
• Define and implement WAN/LAN architecture, including backup circuits, switching, and routing.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, access control lists, and out-of-band management devices.
• Develop IP addressing plans, VLAN configurations, monitoring, and observability platforms.
• Coordinate circuit installation and troubleshooting with service providers.
• Automate network health reporting, maintain technical documentation, and lead Quartz cybersecurity compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience architecting, developing, and deploying scalable network infrastructure.
• Experience with network architecture, device installation, configuration, monitoring, and multi-vendor environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, DHCP, DNS, and NTP.
• Programming experience in a higher-level language such as Python, Go, Rust, or C++.
• Must meet U.S. export control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Juniper networking platforms and relevant certifications.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks security platforms.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-series guidance, including SP 800-57, and FIPS 140-2/140-3 requirements.
