Associate Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the Continental US; 5% associated travel. The listed office location is Irving, Texas.

What you will do

• Assist with setup, configuration, and basic maintenance of security tools and platforms in Managed Detection & Response environments.
• Support new-client onboarding by integrating initial data sources.
• Troubleshoot common technical issues and escalate complex incidents to senior engineers.
• Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Support audit preparation, system monitoring, and internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, or a SOC environment; internships and co-op experience are accepted.
• Exposure to SIEM platforms such as Elastic, Logz.io, or Azure Sentinel, with familiarity with security logging and event management.
• Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, syslog, Linux/Unix, Windows, and Active Directory.
• Ability to work in command-line environments and use basic Bash or PowerShell scripting.
• Must be a US citizen and reside in the Continental US.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900, or an equivalent security certification.
