Staff UX Researcher (AI Agents)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, DC, or Toronto

Salary: $174,000–$240,000 USD annual base salary for specified US locations; $156,000–$215,000 USD and $140,000–$192,000 CAD ranges are also listed.

What you will do

• Own an AI-forward research roadmap for key product pillars at the intersection of identity, security, and artificial intelligence.
• Lead foundational and evaluative research on autonomous AI agents and their security.
• Apply qualitative methods such as contextual inquiry and cognitive walkthroughs alongside surveys, behavioral telemetry, and statistical modeling.
• Integrate AI tools, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows into research operations, synthesis, and qualitative coding.
• Facilitate cross-functional research and alignment across complex security and administrator workflows.
• Build customer empathy, communicate high-impact insights, and mentor researchers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on UX research experience in complex B2B, developer, or enterprise software environments.
• Demonstrated mastery of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Daily practical experience using AI tools and prompt workflows to structure data, synthesize findings, and scale insight delivery.
• Experience with products for developers, administrators, or other technical audiences.
• Strong independent problem-solving, prioritization, communication, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, Data Science, Social Sciences, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

• SQL, R, Python, cluster analysis, advanced statistical modeling, or A/B testing.
• Experience with human-in-the-loop UX evaluation, advanced prompt engineering for operations, agentic workflow evaluation, or synthetic data validation.
• Experience working on security products.
