Senior Platform Engineer (Data)

Location: Remote

Salary: $175,500–$195,000 base salary annually, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end consolidation of data orchestration to Dagster, including technical design, implementation, and rollout.
• Contribute to custom dbt-core infrastructure supporting more than 50 projects and 15,000 models.
• Design Python abstractions for consistent data tooling, project structures, and pipeline conventions.
• Build proactive monitoring and alerting for data tooling and pipelines.
• Improve Databricks tooling, defaults, and guardrails so data teams can run workloads independently.
• Own technical solutions, mentor junior engineers, and foster technical learning and collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and supporting production software.
• Strong Python engineering experience and experience operating systems on AWS.
• Experience with complex job orchestration using Dagster or Airflow.
• Experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.
• Experience contributing to CI processes and owning features from design through production and ongoing improvement.
• Experience with modern data stack environments and AI tooling that supports developer productivity and code quality.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining dbt at scale.
• Previous healthcare or health tech experience.
