Principal Employee Relations Partner

Location: Mountain View, California or San Diego, California; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $189,500–$256,000 annual base pay in Mountain View, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Advise senior leaders and People & Places leadership on complex employee relations, organizational health, culture, and workforce matters.
• Lead responses to sensitive and high-risk situations, including executive escalations, organizational disruption, workforce reductions, complex exits, and reputationally sensitive matters.
• Design enterprise-wide employee relations frameworks, standards, operating models, and playbooks.
• Partner with HRBPs, Ethics & Investigations, Employment Legal, Work-Life Events, and other Centers of Excellence on cross-functional initiatives.
• Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify organizational health trends, root causes, employee sentiment, and workforce risks.
• Lead and mentor ER team members while improving tools, processes, AI usage, and support quality.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Business Partnering, workplace investigations, organizational consulting, or a related field.
• Deep experience handling executive-level situations, organizational change, workforce reductions, complex performance matters, and culture-related escalations.
• Bachelor’s degree required; J.D., master’s degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to influence senior executives, HR leadership, legal partners, and cross-functional stakeholders in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
• Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, critical thinking, judgment, conflict resolution, facilitation, and organizational diagnosis skills.
• Experience designing scalable programs and using data to assess organizational health and guide strategy; global experience is preferred.
