Enterprise Data Architect / Migration Expert (VA Data)

Location: Fully remote within the continental United States

Salary: $185,000–$205,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead the design and evolution of enterprise data architecture for complex Veterans Affairs environments.
• Define scalable patterns for data ingestion, integration, storage, transformation, and governance.
• Provide technical leadership across Azure cloud and data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and ADLS.
• Develop and enforce reference architectures, data models, and architecture decisions.
• Identify migration patterns, resolve dependencies, and support enterprise-scale data workloads.
• Coordinate technical direction across data engineering, DevSecOps, AI/ML, cloud provisioning, and security teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent professional expertise; a bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Experience working with CDW, VISTA, and Oracle Health data.
• Expertise in CDW metadata, data modeling, and CDW query optimization.
• Ability to identify architectural migration patterns and resolve dependencies.
• Strong collaboration, written communication, and oral communication skills for working with VA stakeholders.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
