AI SME - Applied AI & Machine Learning (Azure)

Location: Remote - US

Base salary: $176,200–$264,300 USD annually, plus potential annual discretionary/utilization bonus.

What you will do

• Lead solution architecture and technical strategy for large Azure programs spanning applications, platforms, data, and AI.
• Define modernization blueprints, reference architectures, roadmaps, integration contracts, and reusable delivery standards.
• Guide architecture reviews, governance, discovery, delivery planning, risk management, and cross-team technical decisions.
• Advise executives and senior stakeholders on cloud modernization, platform strategy, AI adoption, investment, and program roadmaps.
• Develop reusable architectures, playbooks, landing-zone templates, workshops, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers while supporting hiring, promotion reviews, capability development, and strategic pursuits.

Requirements

• 12+ years delivering enterprise-scale solutions in application development, cloud platforms, DevOps, data, or analytics.
• 7+ years in solution architecture and development or engineering leadership across multi-team programs.
• 10+ years of relevant experience defining and leading enterprise-wide AI/ML adoption strategies.
• Deep expertise in several areas including agent orchestration, Semantic Kernel or LangChain, vector search, LLM evaluation and operations, responsible AI, Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, and Databricks.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, APIs, containers, microservices, DevOps, data integration and governance, observability, automated testing, and Agile delivery at scale.
• Client-facing consulting and executive engagement experience, strong communication skills, and relevant Azure, Databricks, or cloud architecture certifications.
