Compliance, Employment & Litigation Counsel (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid role based in Austin, Texas, USA; two days in the office each week are required.

Salary: $175,214–$210,265.50 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop and operationalize compliance policies covering ethics, export controls, sanctions, anti-corruption, and conflicts of interest.
• Conduct internal compliance investigations, manage hotline matters, and oversee compliance training and related programs.
• Advise the People Team and business partners on hiring, performance management, accommodations, leaves, investigations, discipline, terminations, restructurings, and reductions in force.
• Manage employment claims, administrative charges, arbitrations, litigation, and commercial disputes involving contracts, vendors, intellectual property, privacy, and bankruptcy.
• Conduct factual investigations, preserve evidence, prepare witnesses, and develop discovery and e-discovery processes.
• Manage outside counsel and legal budgets while providing practical, business-focused recommendations on risk and dispute resolution.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law.
• 4–7 years of experience, including significant compliance, employment, and/or litigation work.
• Strong judgment, practical legal reasoning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and improving legal processes, policies, templates, and operational systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work across time zones as needed; some travel may be required.

Nice to have

• Prior in-house legal experience.
• Experience supporting a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
• Experience advising on employment matters outside the United States.
• Experience with commercial disputes, intellectual property, privacy disputes, bankruptcy matters, or complex e-discovery.
