AVP, Associate General Counsel – Agribusiness (Insurance)

Location: Ohio – Columbus, One hirify.global Plaza; onsite in a normal office environment

Salary: $175,000–$326,000 annual national range; expected starting salary range of $175,000–$291,000.

What you will do

• Lead legal support for complex business risks and opportunities across hirify.global Agribusiness.
• Serve as primary business-unit counsel for Agribusiness and assess legal risks connected to strategic opportunities.
• Advise the President, senior vice presidents, vice presidents, and assistant vice presidents on distribution, underwriting, and sponsor relations matters.
• Identify legal risks in light of business objectives and coordinate support from the Office of the Chief Legal Officer.
• Drive P&C Legal strategic priorities related to underwriting, talent development, retention, and data and technology adoption.
• Lead high-priority cross-team projects and manage a Senior Counsel, administrative assistant, and paralegal.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
• Active attorney licensure in good standing in the state or states of practice, with continuing legal education compliance.
• At least 15 years of deep experience in insurance underwriting, distribution, and regulatory matters.
• Extensive understanding of property and casualty insurance and the ability to interpret statutes, regulations, insurance policies, and contracts.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, decision-making, leadership, and complex-project coordination skills.
• Ability to collaborate with senior management, business partners, clients, peers, and direct reports.
