Senior AI/ML Engineer - Research Data AI and Predictive Modeling (Vaccine R&D)

Location: Hybrid role in Pearl River, New York, United States; on-site an average of 2.5 days per week and within commuting distance.

Salary: $139,100–$231,900 annual base salary, plus a 17.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy and implementation of AI-ready research data resources for vaccine discovery and development.
• Design integrated data architectures and automated ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines for heterogeneous scientific datasets.
• Define semantic data models, metadata standards, ontologies, knowledge graphs, retrieval systems, and graph-RAG capabilities.
• Develop and deploy machine learning and predictive modeling approaches for immune responses, vaccine candidate evaluation, immunogenicity, and translational research.
• Translate AI objectives into technical roadmaps and collaborate with scientists, bioinformaticians, digital teams, and enterprise R&D organizations.
• Evaluate generative AI, agentic AI, multimodal learning, and foundation-model technologies and mentor teams on responsible AI adoption.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Software Engineering, AI, or a related discipline, or a relevant master’s degree with at least 4 years of applied AI/ML experience.
• Experience architecting and implementing data-intensive AI/ML solutions using complex scientific, biological, clinical, or real-world datasets.
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent AI/ML frameworks.
• Experience with data architectures, data integration, semantic data models, metadata standards, knowledge graphs, cloud, or high-performance computing.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and technical leadership experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States by any employer; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with life-sciences data standards, ontology frameworks, and FAIR data principles.
• Experience with immunology, systems biology, multi-omics, flow cytometry, imaging, vaccine, or infectious-disease datasets.
• Experience with generative AI, RAG, agentic AI, foundation models, or biological foundation models.
• Knowledge of translational modeling, biomarker development, clinical data science, or real-world evidence.
• Scientific publications, patents, open-source contributions, or recognized technical leadership in AI and life sciences.
