Senior ML Engineer (AI Platform)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days in office at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Salary: USD 140,000–175,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production-grade ML systems, LLM workflows, and supporting AI platform infrastructure.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI features across data pipelines, training workflows, inference, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical standards, product and modeling decisions, and technical problem-solving.
• Improve model lifecycle management, monitoring, evaluation, reliability, and risk mitigation, including performance regressions and bias.
• Participate in code reviews and incident retrospectives, mentor peers, and support the team's technical growth.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, investors, and market professionals to develop AI systems for equity research and public-market analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on machine learning or AI systems.
• Experience building and operating production ML systems and contributing to system design and technical decisions.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Java.
• Experience with LLMs, ranking or recommendation systems, search, or applied NLP.
• Understanding of deep learning, representation learning, neural networks, NLP techniques, and TensorFlow or PyTorch training pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience building human-in-the-loop training or evaluation workflows.
• Interest in investing, public markets, and fundamental business analysis.
• Knowledge of functional programming or graph-based systems.
