Salary: $90,000–$200,000 per year, depending on academic level and demonstrated experience, plus stock options

Company

hirify.global develops AI-native manufacturing systems that integrate software, hardware, and physics to produce industrial-scale parts, including advanced metal 3D printing systems.

What you will do

  • Build, assemble, align, test, and deploy complex opto-mechanical systems.
  • Develop scalable opto-mechanical build processes from prototypes through volume production.
  • Integrate high-power lasers, high-speed cameras, and proprietary hardware and software.
  • Design mechanical solutions that integrate optical systems with precision and repeatability.
  • Create opto-mechanical drawings using GD&T standards and establish precision alignment methods, procedures, and software.
  • Characterize optical performance and collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams on scalable system architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in optics/optical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics with at least two years of hands-on professional experience, or a relevant master’s degree with at least one hands-on opto-mechanical internship.
  • Hands-on experience building, assembling, and aligning opto-mechanical systems.
  • CAD experience with GD&T and detailed opto-mechanical drawing documentation.
  • Strong mechanical engineering and physics fundamentals.
  • Ability to work onsite in Hawthorne five days per week, with very limited exceptions.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in optical or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with high-power lasers in the tens-to-hundreds-of-watts range.
  • Experience designing optics for industrial systems such as semiconductor etching, laser cutting, or long-distance laser communication.
  • Basic image and signal processing knowledge, motion control and kinematics knowledge, or fluid and thermal systems experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Inclusive, diverse, collaborative, and learning-oriented environment with data-driven decision-making.
  • Significant stock option package and employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance, traditional and Roth 401(k), paid vacation, sick leave, company holidays, and paid parental leave.
