Senior Software Engineer (Web3)

Location: United States, with flexible work-from-home options and access to company offices in Somerville, Massachusetts, and Washington, District of Columbia.

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Architect and implement secure, reliable, and scalable microservices and core software components.
• Integrate Web3, privacy-preserving, cryptographic, and quantum-resistant technologies into platform features.
• Define software development lifecycle processes and build automation pipelines for continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Develop automated unit and integration testing strategies while monitoring and optimizing application performance.
• Provide technical leadership in privacy and security, communicate architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate emerging advances in privacy, cryptography, and distributed systems to solve complex product challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related science.
• 5+ years of full-stack or backend software development experience.
• Experience with cloud-based microservices, service mesh technologies such as Istio, zero-trust architecture, observability, and RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Practical knowledge of OAuth2/Auth, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, data structures, algorithms, SQL and NoSQL databases, and in-memory storage.
• Experience with parallel processing, message brokers or distributed task queues, Docker containers, and Helm charts.
• Strong documentation, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading an Agile development team and delivering multiple software projects on schedule.
• Exposure to IETF RFCs, blockchain systems, or zero-knowledge proofs.
