Sr. Principal Engineer, Platform (AWS)

Location: United States; remote role with an in-person interview required

Salary: $185,400–$312,582 USD base salary for US-based employees; compensation varies by employment location.

What you will do

• Design and evolve reliable, performant, and scalable services and infrastructure for a cloud-native identity security platform.
• Build event-driven microservices on AWS and decompose legacy monolithic functions into independent services.
• Optimize relational and NoSQL database models and lead database scaling initiatives.
• Develop performance testing frameworks and improve latency and operational reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, software engineers, QA engineers, and DevOps engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Influence the product roadmap, advocate for modern software architecture, and serve as a strategic technical reference.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 15+ years of hands-on experience with Internet products and technologies, including 5+ years using Java.
• Significant experience designing and implementing products and services on AWS.
• Experience with modern service-based HTML5 applications and complex multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Knowledge of unit, integration, scale, and performance testing.
• Ability to analyze business requirements, decompose them into technical solutions, and balance business and client needs with SaaS technical constraints.

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with complex multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
