Research Assistant/Technician 1 (Pathology Research)

Salary: $4,359.73–$4,781.54 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Prepare specimens from paraffin tissue blocks for histological analyses.
• Label slides and document, receive, log, and track samples and work orders.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, perform inventory checks, and prepare reagents and buffers using established protocols.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces, including routine equipment checks.
• Perform basic data entry, maintain records, and assist with literature searches.
• Work with the Laboratory Manager, senior technical staff, faculty members, research staff, and trainees.

Requirements

• High school graduation and at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols accurately and consistently.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety and cleanliness.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and file management.
• Clear communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to respecting diverse perspectives and developing knowledge and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
