Director, Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: United States; remote

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop at least four engineering managers across discipline-based engineering communities.
• Provide technical guidance on software design, architecture, code quality, testing strategy, and review practices.
• Set standards for responsible AI-assisted engineering, including coding assistants, agentic workflows, review, and test generation.
• Drive department-wide initiatives covering engineering standards, delivery practices, tooling, onboarding, and technical debt reduction.
• Partner with product directors to staff cross-functional teams, balance engineering capacity, and resolve priorities.
• Own the long-term operational health of services and codebases, technical hiring, and engineering performance.

Requirements

• 8+ years leading software engineering teams, including 3+ years managing managers.
• Experience leading an engineering organization of 20 or more people across multiple teams.
• Strong practicing software engineering background with fluency in frontend and backend architecture.
• Experience with AI development tooling and a clear approach to adopting it across engineering teams.
• Cybersecurity experience at a product company shipping commercial software to external customers.
• Experience with agile cross-functional teams, performance evaluation, promotions, and performance improvement processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with OT or ICS environments, threat detection, or asset visibility products.
• Experience integrating engineering teams after an acquisition.
