What you will do

• Support research on the NHS pilot for population testing for BRCA gene carriers.
• Investigate which behavioural and medical interventions are acceptable to people receiving positive BRCA gene test results.
• Conduct and analyse qualitative data collected from patients and healthcare professionals.
• Write up findings and communicate research results.
• Obtain PPIE input, update ethical clearance, and conduct scoping literature reviews.
• Work within the Manchester Centre of Health Psychology and a wider multidisciplinary research team.

Requirements

• MSc in health psychology or another health-services-oriented discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Professional communication with colleagues and research participants.
• Ability to use initiative to plan, optimise, and progress projects efficiently.
• High-standard qualitative data analysis experience.
• Experience conducting qualitative data collection.
• Applicants must demonstrate the right to work in the UK; this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in the NHS context and working with patients or healthcare professionals.
• Experience with PPIE activities.
• Knowledge of cancer prevention or early detection.
